Jack Franco

I’m Jack, one of your co-ordinators for the Events & Campaigns team on the National Collective, and am a Londoner European, starting university this autumn. Making DiEM25 about relevant local actions for every grassroots group, rather than just stadium sell-out events is the name of the game, and I’m privileged to be playing a part.

Hi, I’ll be one of your contacts for Policy and Alliances. I’m based in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. My goal is to build links with other groups with common aims to DiEM25, and translate our policies to meaningful action at the local level. Here’s to a democratic, progressive and sustainable Europe!

 Julia Moore

I’m delighted to be part of the Policy and Alliances Team. I’m based in France, with personal and business interests in Sheffield. Our generic objective is to link with sympathetic groups/organisations, and grow the DiEM25 UK network, particularly at the local-regional levels, working closely with our Events/Campaigns colleagues.

I’ll be one of your contacts for the NC UK Creative Communication Team. I’m based in St. Ives Cornwall. I aim to share my creativity and know-how with the goal of increasing engagement with DiEM25 particularly in the thriving Creative scene in South West Cornwall. An ltalian citizen living in UK, I will focus on expanding ideas and build opportunities for UK citizens that still want to have a voice in Europe after Brexit.

 Andrea Pisauro

Andrea Pisauro

I’m a researcher at the University of Glasgow and would like to welcome and encourage new members to join our pan-European fight. I’m particularly keen to be contacted by EU citizens who would like their voice to be heard and believe that there is a path to democratise Brexit calling for EU elections in Britain in May 2019. Please get in touch if you are interested in exploring this path with me.

 Boubacar Dembele

As a French national living in Reading, I have a transnational perspective on political affairs that aligns with the aims and aspiration of DiEM25. As one of the ground organisers, I hope to help get more people involved into politics by doing everything I can to show that politics already impacts every single aspects of our lives. Let’s get together as often as possible, let’s have as many chats as possible and let’s have a good time while doing our little bits to make Europe a better, more democratic place.

Like a Phoenix rising from the ashes, when I faced redundancy during the last economic Big Crush, I found myself with no job, no assets, and as a school leaver, with no formal skills. Since then, I have moved to Scotland and married a fellow citizen from Barcelona. We are noe settled there with our two children. I graduated in Philosophy and International Relations and found that my passion lies in philosophy and political theory. Nowadays, I am finishing my MA in International Political Theory. Quite an expensive passion, but worth it. Next step following this motivation? Contribute to a change in our political life for the better.

Since joining, I’ve made connections with other DiEMers in Scotland, my adopted country since 1987, resulting in the formation only days ago of a new planning group for Local Collectives in Scotland. I’m also a member of the Beyond Brexit Thematic DSC. Though semi-retired, my day job has for many years been as a practitioner, lecturer and international examiner in a derivative of osteopathy. This takes me regularly to Greece and Poland. Up to 1980 I was in the communications industry for 20 years, experience that helped subsequently and, I hope, will benefit my involvement with DiEM25.

 Darren Pigott

Darren Pigott

I’m Darren Pigott, from Lincoln, married with two teenage children. I run an electrical contracting company, so offered my help with the financial & business side of the NC. I joined DiEM25 at its origination. Before Brexit, I realised neither the remain & carry on as usual or the leave option inspired me. I wanted an EU to be proud of, one that valued people more than products or capital, that offered more rights to citizens than the markets, one that realised the true potential of the people that make Europe what it is.

As your new ex-officio comms member, I want to take DiEM25’s message to progressive parties in the UK both nationally and locally, communicating our policies and movement to major political figures and raising awareness and adoption of our agenda internally in their groups. As an international politics student at Aberystwyth University I also want to increase DiEM25’s image at universities, especially via large events and talks taking place at universities across the country.

 Tom Mutton

Tom Mutton

I’m Tom and I’m interested in helping and motivating people to create a new and better society for all. I see DiEM25 as pivotal in this process and am fully committed to creating new and exciting possibilities for people to freely associate with one another.
